PRSI / PPS (Department of Social Protection)
If you are working or have worked over the past few years, you may be entitled to a FREE eye examination and FREE distance and FREE reading glasses if required on your PRSI contributions. If you wear BIFOCAL glasses there are some FREE frames to choose from. VARIFOCAL clients will receive an allowance of €85.00 off the cost of your complete new spectacles.
To check your eligibility, simply phone us today on 018346599 with your PPSN and Date Of Birth and we can tell you very quickly if you qualify.
MEDICAL CARD
If you hold a valid Medical Card, you are entitled to a FREE eye examination once every two years. Your Medical Card will also cover you for FREE distance and FREE reading glasses also if required. As with PRSI benefit there are a selection of FREE BIFOCAL glasses to choose from or if you wear VARIFOCAL glasses you will receive an allowance of €85.00 off the cost of a complete pair of glasses.
To check eligibility, simply phone our store on 018346599 with your medical card to hand and we will fill out the necessary paperwork on your behalf. Generally, applications for optical benefit made on your behalf to the HSE and will be returned to your home address within a month.
PRIVATE
If you are paying privately at Tunney Opticians, your eye examination fee costs €40.00.
